I really like how we didn't watch television or have cable t.v. in my last house. My first roommate would watch television in the morning, when she got home from school, all the way until she fell asleep with it on. Depressing. My current roommates insisted on getting cable television like it was a necessity -- I mean, I was rudely awoken from my afternoon cat nap to hear the Comcast-or-whatever guy set it up.
I don't know. I'm just so incredibly glad that my parents weaned us from the television at an early age.
I sent my girlfriend a surprise! mix CD via snail-mail. I can't wait until she gets it.

Experienced the most awkward confrontation ever. I had just finished working out and was in the sauna relaxing when a middle-aged woman enters. Other than the towel around her shoulders, she's completely naked. Jesus Christ Mary, I did my best to avoid eye contact and her nakedness in front of me. She sits on the lower bench (I was on the top bench) right next to me and talks up a storm -- she said I had a New Zealand accent? I'm really exhausted at this point and begin giving her one syllable replies followed by a nervous laugh (think George Michael from Arrested Development) hoping she'd get the message that I don't want a conversation without actually having to tell her.
My shoes were next to me and she says something about shoes and the sauna heat causing toxins(?) and politely asks me to place them outside, which I do and move to the opposite side of the sauna from her.
"You don't want to sit where you were before?"
"No, I'm okay here," I reply.
"I hope you're not mad." She takes my old place and I can hear her rubbing her body. Exact locations I do not know.
"No, I'm not mad."
She finally shuts up and after five minutes, I leave without saying a word or a glance. What a night.

bike downtown to an awesome coffee place
drink iced chai, talk on the phone with gal pals/catch up on gossip/internet surf
bike to arboretum to meditate
bike to library to read
lunch break
bike around campus
go to 24 RR/library, internet surf/read more
bike home, eat
socialize with roommate (optional: sometimes she's galavanting in berkeley. :P)
computer + music
sleep
repeat.

i never feel the urge to get drunk anymore. beginning to appreciate small gatherings of good friends, not clusters of randoms or big parties. falling in love with medieval literature. will never fall in love with the good guy.

oh apple, i hate you. no, i love you. no, i hate you. why you gotta put out the new 13in macbook pros a couple days after i purchased my macbook? now i need to drive alllll the way to sac city and do a switch-a-roo. the things you do to me, you're too much.
on the other hand, i predict a very good summer.
this quarter, school-wise and outside school-wise, has been the most memorable in so many ways. thank you for proving yourself to me, davis and co. xx

Started playing Kaki King again and I'll say, "... Until We Felt Red" is probably one of the best albums out there. Listen to it in alphabetical order; I promise it's a nice way to start your morning. Just listening to it makes me daydream of waking up in L.A. with a lover, listening to the bustle and hum of the city waking with us. God, I miss L.A. so much. As well as speckling someone with kisses in the morning. Don't give me that look -- I'm a romantic, okay?

Probably the best weekend I've had in a long time. Highlight would be last night -- after dancing in the Wellman pit and being at the massive Co-Op party to watch the fire dancers -- when I was simply hanging out with P and S at the Arboretum at two in the morning, being silly under the moonlight. I need another night like this.
